The robot dog will help builders in Moscow.

The multifunctional medical center being built at the Skolkovo Innovation Center has become a pilot site for testing the functions of a robot dog, including control over the implementation of a project approved by the architects. Rafik Zagrutdinov, head of the Moscow City Construction Department, announced this at a press tour of MMK’s facilities.
“As part of the construction of the IMC, the territory of the Moscow Medical Cluster has become a pilot site for testing new technologies. Let me remind you that Russia is now actively implementing BIM technologies and information modeling methods. This construction site uses an industrial robot that can form a point cloud inside the building. Subsequently, they will be compared with the BIM model. This will allow you to see possible deviations from the design intent. Any kind of equipment can be hung on the device. He is able to control the culture of production and safety precautions,” the head of the department noted.

According to him, the robot dog can be controlled both from the remote control and in automatic mode – at given points. Previously, the work of this apparatus was performed by people using special devices.

“So far we are talking only about the experiment. Let’s see how the robot dog performs its function. When the machine is piloted, we will look at the effect and, possibly, extend it to other facilities under construction. Let me remind you that for the widespread use of the device, we must initially design all buildings using BIM technologies, a digital model is needed,” Rafik Zagrudinov specified.

He added that the robot dog will be tested throughout 2022. Such assistants will become indispensable in the construction of unique facilities with great engineering and impressive volumes.
