Extensive testing on private roads preceded the issuance of a permit by the California Department of Motor Vehicles, enabling Zoox's autonomous vehicle to operate on public roads.

The Zoox autonomous shuttle, measuring 3.63 meters in length and 1.94 meters in height, is equipped with a sophisticated array of vision cameras, radars, and lidars. These sensors capture environmental data, which is then processed by an onboard computer system to facilitate autonomous navigation.
