Binder USA unveils surface mount M12 connectors for streamlined automation
In an effort to support the growing demand for automation in industrial environments, Binder USA LP, a leading supplier of industrial circular connectors, has announced the availability of its M12 series connectors as surface-mount devices (SMDs). This innovative offering promises to enable streamlined and automated processes, further enhancing efficiency and productivity in various applications.
Based in Camarillo, California, Binder USA has long been at the forefront of developing advanced connector solutions for industrial applications. The company's latest SMD connectors are designed to facilitate fully automated processes, such as the dense, double-sided assembly of printed circuit boards (PCBs).
Binder USA said the features of its M12 SMD connectors include:
- Four, six, and eight number of contacts
- A-, B-, D-, and X-coded
- IP67 protection class
- Compact and easy to automate processing, binder says
- Available in shielded and unshielded versions
Binder USA emphasizes the compact and easy-to-automate nature of its SMD connectors, making them well-suited for robotics, factory and process automation, instrumentation, sensors, and actuators. The company offers these connectors in various configurations, including sets with different flange housings, built-in parts in blister packaging, and tape and reel packaging for seamless integration into automated processing lines.
In contrast to traditional through-hole technology or through-hole reflow processes, Binder's SMD contact pins are placed directly on the surface in the surface-mount technology (SMT) process and connected using solder paste. This approach eliminates the need for inserting pins through the PCB, resulting in significant space savings.
"With the increasing demand for automation and miniaturization in industrial applications, our SMD connectors offer a versatile and efficient solution," said [Binder USA representative]. "By enabling dense mounting of connectors on PCBs, we empower our customers to optimize their manufacturing processes and achieve higher productivity."
Binder USA's SMD connectors are suitable for a wide range of applications, including robotics, factory and process automation, instrumentation, sensors, and actuators. The company's commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction has solidified its position as a trusted partner in the industrial connector market.
In late 2023, Binder USA further expanded its product portfolio with the introduction of K- and L-coded over-molded cable components that meet the UL 2238 standard for North America. These components address the growing need for power transmission via compact M12 interfaces, enabling the efficient operation of field devices such as sensors, wireless transmitters, and fieldbus devices.
As the industrial landscape continues to evolve, Binder USA remains dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions that empower its customers to achieve their automation goals. With the introduction of surface-mount M12 connectors, the company reinforces its commitment to driving innovation and supporting the seamless integration of advanced technologies in industrial environments.
