Underwater Robotics Camp: Explore Bay County

Join our underwater robotics camp in Bay County

Dive into the future of exploration with the Panama City Marine Institute's (Camp AMIkids Panama City) innovative initiative to transform Bay County into a hub for underwater robotics. At our camp, children and teenagers embark on a thrilling journey of underwater exploration guided by cutting-edge robotics technology.

Our mission is simple yet ambitious: to inspire the next generation of explorers and scientists by providing hands-on experience in underwater robotics. Through immersive scuba diving experiences and guided robotics activities, camp attendees gain invaluable insights into the fascinating world beneath the waves.

Each summer, approximately 50 school-age students flock to the AMIkids PCMI summer camp, eager to dive into the realm of underwater robotics. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, participants not only discover the intricacies of robotics but also work towards earning industry certifications that validate their newfound skills.

The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of robotics, including its structure, mechanics, and methods of movement. As one young student aptly describes, "Initially, we thought it would be like a video game, but in practice, it turned out to be much more complicated and more exciting."

Over the course of three days, campers immerse themselves in a series of engaging lessons and hands-on activities, culminating in a certification exam. This exam comprises two parts: a written portion consisting of 25 multiple-choice questions, followed by practical "missions" conducted outside the classroom.

By the end of the program, participants emerge not only as certified underwater robotics enthusiasts but also as confident explorers ready to chart new territories beneath the sea. Join us at our underwater robotics camp in Bay County and embark on an unforgettable journey of discovery and learning.
