Geek+ mobile ASRS
Robotics company Geek+ has unveiled its tallest automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) robot yet, capable of handling warehousing tasks at heights up to 40 feet. The new robot expands Geek+'s goods-to-person solutions and has already been deployed by major retailers globally.
Operating autonomously within warehouse aisles, the ASRS robot can store and retrieve totes and cases from racks up to 12 meters high. It works in coordination with faster ground-based robots that transport items to and from pick stations in a flexible, space-saving workflow.
This hybrid picking system allows the advantages of tall racking while eliminating ladder-based picking risks. Geek+ offers the ASRS bot as part of a portfolio of robots-as-a-service solutions tailored to customers' needs.
According to Geek+ founder Young Zheng, the enhanced ASRS "is a significant addition offering more choices to retailers looking for the right automation fit."
A single software platform oversees optimal path planning, traffic management and task coordination across all of Geek+'s mobile robots. This enables large-scale automation with seamless integration into WMS and warehouse environments.
Geek+ has seen tremendous growth as retailers worldwide adopt its goods-to-person systems. Last year, the company's installed fleet hit a major milestone, autonomously picking over 10 billion items.
As an early pioneer in the space, Geek+ remains committed to pushing boundaries through continuous innovation in robotics and AI. The high-rise ASRS robot expands the scope of automation possible and allows more customers to benefit from optimized, future-proofed warehouse operations.
