AI comes to the warehouse: Locus Robotics demystifies at Robotics Summit
As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to capture the imagination of industries worldwide, one sector primed for transformation is the warehouse and logistics space. However, separating the hype from reality remains a challenge for many robotics developers, integrators, and warehouse operators looking to harness the power of AI. At the upcoming 2024 Robotics Summit & Expo, a leading voice in autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) aims to provide clarity on this pivotal technology.
Sean Pineau, head of third-party logistics (3PL) segments at Locus Robotics, will present a session titled "AI in the Warehouse: What You Really Need to Know" on Wednesday, May 1, at 1:45 p.m. ET. With over a decade of leadership experience in the materials handling industry, including stints at Dematic and Crown Equipment Corp., Pineau brings a wealth of expertise to the subject.
During his presentation, Pineau will delve into the critical considerations, potential benefits, and impacts of implementing AI in the warehouse environment. He will also demystify key concepts, explaining what truly constitutes "embodied AI," distinguishing between what is and is not AI, and providing guidance on how warehouse managers can optimize their operations through the strategic integration of AI and robotics.
"As the buzz around generative AI continues to grow, it's crucial for those in the warehouse and logistics space to separate fact from fiction," said Pineau. "AI has the potential to revolutionize this industry, but only if we understand its true capabilities and limitations. My goal is to provide attendees with a clear, practical understanding of how AI can be effectively leveraged in their operations."
Locus Robotics, a leading provider of autonomous mobile robots based in Wilmington, Massachusetts, has been at the forefront of bringing AI-powered automation to warehouses and distribution centers.
