Solomon Technology Corp. integrates NVIDIA's Isaac Platform to boost robotics and AI capabilities
Solomon Technology Corp. has announced a strategic collaboration with NVIDIA to integrate the latter's Isaac robotics platform into its product offerings. This partnership, unveiled at COMPUTEX 2024 in Taipei, Taiwan, marks a pivotal moment in the advancement of 3D machine vision, robotics control, and augmented intelligence technologies.
Johnny Chen, CEO of Solomon, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "We are thrilled to integrate the NVIDIA Isaac platform into our products. NVIDIA's advanced AI and robotics tools will enhance our product capabilities in 3D machine vision, robotics control, and augmented intelligence, helping drive greater innovation in industrial automation."
Founded in 1973, Solomon has established itself as a leader in advanced vision systems, offering solutions for 3D bin picking, vision-guided robots, AI-based defect inspection, and "augmented intelligence" that blends artificial intelligence with augmented reality. The company's unique selling point lies in its embedded rapid AI model training, allowing users to customize models with minimal time investment.
One of the highlights of this collaboration is the enhancement of Solomon's bin-picking system. The global bin-picking system market, valued at $1.7 billion in 2023, is projected to reach $5.6 billion by 2033, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12.5%, according to Fact.MR. This growth underscores the increasing importance of robotics and computer vision in industrial applications.
Solomon's bin-picking system will leverage NVIDIA Isaac Manipulator accelerated libraries, which are based on NVIDIA Isaac ROS. RGo's Perception Engine, an AI and vision system for localization, obstacle detection, and scene understanding, will be combined with NVIDIA Isaac Perceptor acceleration libraries to enable faster deployment of mobile robots.
The integration of these advanced technologies is expected to significantly reduce the time-to-market for robotic solutions. RGo claims that the integrated software stack, compatible with the new NVIDIA Nova Orin Developer kit, will allow customers to deploy mobile robots within a few months. This rapid deployment capability is particularly valuable for robots operating in dynamic environments, both indoors and outdoors.
