In a groundbreaking move, commercial space company Vast has announced a partnership with SpaceX to equip its upcoming Haven-1 space station with cutting-edge laser communication devices, providing future astronauts with high-speed internet access in orbit.

Vast will leverage SpaceX's recently unveiled "plug and plaser" service, which offers laser communication devices designed to interface with the company's rapidly growing Starlink satellite constellation.

Each laser line boasts an impressive data transmission rate of up to 100 Gbps, enabling seamless communication without the need for direct ground station links, ultimately reducing latency.
